Sorry to be so far out of line with the reviews posted to date, but I gave up before the halfway point.The yawning gap in English for a gender-neutral third person singular pronoun in three cases - nominative, objective and genitive - should make for a fascinating discussion. In many situations, "the masculine shall embrace the feminine" has been applied, e.g. for criminal penalties. In many other situations , e.g. voting rights, it has not.The author has ample material to work with. There are accounts of obvious logical flaws, of attempts to close the gap with newly-minted words, of uses the singular "they".Alas, though, this potentially gripping story is told badly. In a nutshell, we can't see the wood for the trees.
