As a former IANDS (The International Association for Near-Death Studies) chapter head I have read a slew of NDE books over the past forty-some years. Tricia Barker's "Angels in the OR" is definitely one of my all-time favorites. Not only is her book beautifully written, but her mastery of the English language allows her to overcome the ineffability problem of describing an indescribable experience to a far greater extent than most experiencers. And as Dr. Jan Holden pointed out in her review, there are some rarities in Tricia's book such as having angels in the OR divinely assist her surgeons, and being told by God what career path to follow. Most NDErs feel they were sent back for a specific purpose, but are at a loss to explain what that purpose is. Why Tricia was told what to do is anyone's guess. But with God as her guidance counselor, she did as she was told, and if you ask me, accomplished her mission admirably and with much love and compassion. Another thing I liked about Tricia's book was how openly and honestly she talked about her own personal struggles, traumas, and shortcomings. She doesn't candy coat anything. This took a considerable amount of courage on her part, and I deeply admire her for doing so. It's one of the things that sets this book apart from so many other NDE books. And why it's destined to become a future classic in the world of near-death literature. In any event, this is a very interesting, thought provoking, inspiring, and spiritually uplifting book. It clearly shows that with perseverance, determination, and God's love we can overcome and heal from whatever life throws at us.
