While I absolutely love most of the books in the Dirty series including Ashley Player's story — this one just didn't do it for me.First off, I absolutely hated the way Courteney threw herself at Xander over and over and over and over again. It was embarrassingly uncomfortable to read it.It's important that young women are self assured and confident whether or not a guy reciprocates their feelings.Never ever throw yourself at a man. If he says no that many times then respect his decision. If it's meant to be he will realize his mistake and pursue you and not the other way around.Another issue I had with this book is that it seemed kind of rushed and thrown together.It was constantly a continuous loop of folks walking out on each other and never getting to the heart of the problems. Problems will never just magically work themselves out. Communication is key.I think more should have been written about the circumstances behind Gabe's death.For instance, everyone was devastated that Gabe died. But Cary took it the hardest. He basically fail into a really deep depression for four years where he refused to leave his home and barely communicate with the outside world.Sure they were best friends but I wondered was there more to their relationship. Were they simply best friends and/or lovers?And why didn't the story conclude with a resolution between Cary and "his little cupcake" aka Courteney?Why did Cary tell Xander to stay away from CC?It was stated that CC and Xander both live under Cary's roof before this, right?So what made this time so different?Did Cary witness something else before he caught Xander & CC in bed together?I really wanted to like this book but I just didn't feel it at all.CC was a whiny little girl. I didn't care for her attitude most of the time.Then Xander going from manslut to devoted boyfriend in a blink of an eye?There should have been more build up to them becoming a couple. There simply was not any real transition in the story.It felt like someone else wrote this book and not Jaine Diamond. I'm a big fan but this unfortunately wasn't good in my opinion.Please, please go back to the way you wrote the Dirty series.I'm really looking forward to Summer and Flynn story. Please do it justice.We met DJ Summer and Elle's bodyguard Flynn early on in the Dirty series so I feel like I know them.So again please convert back to the original writing style with angst, playful fun, unforgettable hot love scenes, and HEA.Thanks.
