How can I put into words how great this book was?It wrapped up SO many loose ends, but left room for more stories in this universe which is all part of Shea's master plan (she's just that good). Everything you could hope would happen happens but in ways that are so unexpected and great you can't put it down. Literally I read it in less than four hours straight the minute my Kindle notified me it was available.Favorites: The relationships in this book are real. They promote diversity and trust and genuine, healthy relationships that make the people in them better. That is NOT common these days it was so refreshing to see everything come to fruition in a consistent positive manner. I also love the humor. The one-liners throughout this books (and the other two) are priceless. And the secondary characters are the best! They support the main characters and create this beautiful web of laughter and seriousness and fun....I can't say enough good things. And love. *sigh* The romance is witty and hard-won, but it's still swoon-worthy which makes for seriously great reading.Things I wished for: There was a little too much repetition for being the third book in a series. I know it can be read as a standalone and the details were there for the person who chose to only read book three, but they felt a tiny bit redundant at times. Also, the switch in Killian's language toward Hazel was a little abrupt. I got it, and was all for it honestly, but the transition wasn't entirely natural as a reader.But seriously, those things do nothing to take away from how great this book is (notice how often I say great...it's because it's true). The plot twists, the order of events (so sneaky as you'll see), the way magic works in this universe, and the theme of mercy before blood are all so well done that I firmly stand by a 5-star review. This is probably my favorite series of KM Shea's and I own them all because her writing is just so clean, fun, and engaging. Definitely a must read.
